I have owned this great tool for at least 25 years. I don’t use it that often, but when I do, it saves so much agro.
The photo to the right shows the way I was using it locked in a vice to Brummell splice 1/2″ Amsteel.
No way my little D-splicer was going to work to get 40 inches of tail threaded through.
That D-splicer is obviously not up to the job. But there are also adult-sized D-splicers. I’ve got a set of three, each ~55 cm long, ex. handle.
Hi Alex,
Sure, but although I like the D splicers for small stuff, I like the wand better once we get to 10mm and up. Each to their own.
Also, it seems that even D splicer’s web site only recommends using their tools to 10 mm: https://d-splicer.com
