John and Phyllis Holiday (Vacation)—Part 2

This photo just screams holiday (vacation) to me.

Phyllis and I will be going on part two of our summer holidays (vacation) for ten days starting Monday, September 9th.

During this time:

  • There will be no new articles.
  • We will only be available in the comments sporadically, if at all.
  • I (John) will not be answering questions retroactively that were posted in the comments while I’m on holiday—not a holiday if I do all the work when I get back! So if you want an answer from me, please post the question after 22nd September.
  • It may take a bit longer than usual to get help with account or log in problems, but rest assured that you will get an answer.
  • We will not close the comments, but we will be watching, so please play nice.
  • We will not be answering emails until we get back.

By the way, us taking more holidays is not only good for us, but also for you, our readers, since we found the last break energized us and increased our enthusiasm for work. I have been a writing machine since I got back, so there’s lots of stuff in the hopper.

SailBoat Show

We will then be home for a couple of weeks, before I head out for the US Sailboat Show in Annapolis.

Meet the Author

John was born and brought up in Bermuda and started sailing as a child, racing locally and offshore before turning to cruising. He has sailed over 100,000 miles, most of it on his McCurdy & Rhodes 56, Morgan's Cloud, including eight ocean races to Bermuda, culminating in winning his class twice in the Newport Bermuda Race. He has skippered a series of voyages in the North Atlantic, the majority of which have been to the high latitudes. John has been helping others go voyaging by sharing his experience for twenty years, first in yachting magazines and, for the last 12 years, as co-editor/publisher of AAC.
